SVG Capital advises Apex Mountain Resort on its sale

Apex Tombstone

SVG Capital Group is proud to announce the successful closing of the sale of Apex Mountain Resort to a group of private investors. SVG Capital Group acted as the financial advisor to the shareholders of Apex. The shareholders of Apex retained SVG Capital Group as its financial intermediary to market the business and manage the transaction process.

Since 1961 Apex has operated as a full-service destination ski resort approximately 30km west of Penticton, BC and is world renowned for its great weather, quality of snow and incredible ski terrain. Apex, being in the heart of the Okanagan Valley, features the perfect mix between large amounts of precipitation and low humidity that makes for the lightest champagne powder snow imaginable. With an average temperature of -4 C, Apex receives about 600 cm of dry “Okanagan” powder each season.

According to Donald Spence, managing partner of SVG Capital, “the six-month process encouraged a number of potential buyers to express interest in acquiring the iconic resort. It was a highly competitive process.” SVG Capital Group successfully managed the process and assisted with the closing of the transaction on April 28, 2017.
